Hiller History

Hiller Carbon LLC is a privately held U.S. corporation headquartered in Tampa, Florida. Founded in 1975 by Wes Hiller Sr., Hiller Carbon has grown into a leading supplier of specialty carbon products and other minerals, serving industries such as electric arc furnace (EAF) steel, foundry, refractory, industrial, and chemical sectors. 

Our roots trace back to Hiller Fuels Inc., which was established during the 1970’s energy crisis as a coal mining and marketing entity focused on bituminous coal sales. Over time, Hiller adapted to changing market dynamics, selling its eastern Kentucky coal mining interests to Nerco Coal Company, a subsidiary of Pacific Power and Light and shifting its focus to specialty coal markets. 

In 1985, we formed The Hiller Group, Inc., which grew to a top-tier aviation fuel distributor before its sale in 2010 to a NYSE-listed conglomerate.

Today, Hiller Carbon continues to expand its expertise in carbon processing, milling operations, and supply chain management. We operate multiple processing facilities and maintain strategic supply partnerships, both domestic and international allowing us to ship via truck, rail, barge, or vessel in quantities.

Our extensive logistics network ensures efficient and reliable delivery to customers in the Americas.
